Neuroscience

For declared and prospective Neuroscience majors (sophomore and above). Discussion of recent neuroscience articles in popular and scientific journals.

Majors must successfully complete comprehensive examinations in the Spring Semester of the Senior year.

This course compares animal behavior, psychology, physiology, and neurobiology. We will explore how concepts like intelligence, empathy, and emotion are expressed, and how perception, culture, and language vary across species. We will also discuss the impacts of climate change, conservation efforts, and how cultural perceptions of animals influence human-animal relationships.
