Departments and Academic Divisions
As an educational institution, our academic departments are at the heart of Earlham College. And like the rest of the College, our academic departments are governed through consensus and collaboration—which means that rather than chairs, our departments have conveners.
A department may offers several majors and minors. Several of Earlham's program of study are by design interdisciplinary and do not have a "home " department.
Academic departments are organized in four academic divisions:
- Ancient and Classical Studies
- English
- French and Francophone Studies
- Japanese Languages and Linguistics
- Spanish and Hispanic Studies
